Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how MAPWOD handles information in the MAPWOD mobile application and on the MAPWOD website. The app is designed around a simple principle: the original PIN and private word used to create a MAP are not stored in the saved card record.
Information used by the mobile app
Information you enter
During setup, you may enter a card name, select a card color, enter a private four-letter word, and enter a PIN. The word and PIN are used to generate your letter-number MAP during setup. They are not saved in the card record after the MAP is created.
Information stored on your device
MAPWOD stores saved card names, selected card colors, generated letter-number MAPs, creation and update dates, onboarding status, account-plan state, and app preferences such as theme. This information is stored in app storage on your device.
Information MAPWOD does not request
The app does not require a bank-card number, CVV, expiry date, bank-account details, bank login, precise location, contacts, photos, audio recordings, or advertising identifiers to create a MAP.
How app information is used
Stored app information is used to display saved cards and MAPs, remember preferences, and track whether onboarding has been completed.
Website support requests
If you submit the support form, MAPWOD collects the name, email address, subject, and message you provide. This information is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the European multi-region so authorized MAPWOD administrators can review the request and reply manually from support@mapwod.com.
Website support requests are retained indefinitely until an authorized administrator deletes them manually. The support form does not automatically email the submitted message and does not create a public support account.
Firebase App Check and reCAPTCHA are used to reduce automated abuse of the support form. These services may process technical signals needed to assess whether a request comes from a legitimate website visitor. MAPWOD does not add browser fingerprints, device user agents, or IP addresses to the saved support-request record.
Do not include a PIN, private word, card number, CVV, expiry date, bank login, account details, or a screenshot of a private MAP in a support request.
Security
Protect your device with a strong passcode, biometric security where available, and current operating-system protections. Anyone with access to your unlocked device and the app may be able to view saved MAPs.
MAPWOD reduces risk by not saving the original PIN or private word in the saved card record. However, no app, website, device, or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and deletion
You can delete individual cards or reset all saved cards within the app. You may also remove app data by deleting the app, subject to your device and operating-system behavior.
To request access to or deletion of a website support request, submit a new support request identifying the email address used in the original request. Do not include sensitive financial information.
Children’s privacy
MAPWOD is not directed to children and should not be used by children without appropriate parent or guardian supervision. MAPWOD does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

For privacy questions or requests, use the MAPWOD support form. Replies are sent from support@mapwod.com. Never include a PIN, private word, or financial information.
